Sony announced on Thursday that it has partnered with Lego for a Lego PlayStation set. The set will feature a “near 1:1 scale of the [original PlayStation ] console” and “functional mechanisms for the console's Power and Open buttons [and] a controller that can plug into the console.” The set will bundle dioramas of PlayStation games Gran Torismo and Ape Escape .
An accompanying trailer opens with the iconic original PlayStation boot-up music and the PlayStation logo made from Lego bricks. In the trailer, Lego design director Frédéric Roland Andre discusses the design features of the set:
The Lego PlayStation will be available through direct. PlayStation .com and the Lego online store for LEGO Insiders members on October 1. The set will then go on general sale on October 4 through the Lego online store. The set is priced at US$179.99.
This is not the first time Lego has partnered with video game console producers. Lego partnered with Nintendo for blocky versions of the Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy and, then with Sega in May 2026 for the Lego Sega Mega Drive (Genesis in North America). Lego released a 40-second video parodying the Game Boy's first commercial.
