Bibury Animation Studio president Motoki Tanaka (also known as " Tensho ") streamed a video of the idol performance from episode 28 of The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You anime series — with a twist — on Friday. The staff created over 15,000 drawings by hand to animate the 10-minute sequence, and this production line-test video showcases all their hard work:
The videos features all three songs from the episode, but the songs are muted for most of this video's runtime.
As the video's description notes, many recent anime have used 3D animation for their concert sequences, but The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You anime's staff wanted to go back to 2D for their latest sequence.
Hikaru Sato directed episode 28 the anime, and Yū Harumi served as the line director and provided the storyboards. Akane Yano and Chiaki Tateoka were the chief animation directors with Mika Nishiyama and Ai Nomoto as animation directors. Keisuke Yamamoto served as animation producer with Kōhei Ezaki as production assistant.
