American toy company Hasbro unleashed its take on The Legend of Zelda's Master Sword on Tuesday. Modeled after the sword from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , the 27-inch-long electronic toy features over 15 different sound effects activated by touch, motion, and impact.

The sword went on pre-order for US$39.99 on September 9 at 1:00 p.m. EDT on Hasbro Pulse, Walmart, Amazon , and other shops, and Hasbro plans to ship it next spring. (Not coincidentally, the live-action film will open on April 30.)

Hasbro isn't the first major toy maker to try its hand at an electronic Master Sword. Bandai offered its own Master Sword "Proplica" in September 2024. While Bandai's version was longer at 105 centimeters (about 41 inches) and added vibration effects, it was also much more expensive at 22,000 yen (about US$143).

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launched in 2023 for the Nintendo Switch as the 20th mainline installment of Zelda video game franchise and the sequel to 2017's Breath of the Wild . Tears of the Kingdom was initially delayed from 2022 to spring 2023 to extend development time. The game sold over 10 million units worldwide over its release weekend, making it the fastest-selling game in the history of the franchise .
