Geek Pictures Unveils Panchsheela Indian-Japanese Magical Girl Animation

Geek Pictures India announced on August 25 that it is working on what it described as an "original magical-girl anime" titled Panchsheela . Geek Pictures India describes the project as an India–Japan creative collaboration.

The project's official website introduces the story:

When the ancient darkness Daki Daayan breaks free after centuries of imprisonment, five ordinary desi schoolgirls—Mezi, Kaya, Amba, Zoonie and Tara—are chosen as the Panchsheela: magical warriors who each embody the power of a sacred chakra. Guided by their clumsy mentor Guru Garu and five animal companions harbouring mystical knowledge, they battle Negatives—forlorn people that Daki transforms into her army of destruction—while surviving homework, heartbreak, bad hostel food and each other. Can this magical sisterhood step up to the challenges of everyday school life while learning to channelise their powers to tackle Daki's torment?

Geek Pictures India is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based creative studio Geek Pictures . Geek Pictures also owns the Geek Toys anime studio subsidiary. Geek Toys merged with Geek Pictures in 2023.
